Hey guys, so I’ve upgraded my recording equipment. The video below explains everything.
Marantz PMD661, Zoom H4N and MixPre-D. from Samuel Justice on Vimeo.
Recordings (both were recorded at same gain level and normalised to -10dbfs in Soundforge). Mic used was a Rode NTG3.

As you can hear the results are close, it comes down to ease of use and reliability. Now I haven’t had the PMD661 long enough to comment on the reliability, but it certainly is nicer than the H4N in terms of use and connectivity.
