This post is not about sound for once, it’s about a project me and some buddies have been working on for a number of months now, introducing .. Molecat Twist!
Molecat Twist is a challenging puzzle game that takes place in the weird and beautiful world of the Molecats. Guide the Molecats through unique levels by taking control of the environment and changing the course they follow. Along the way the Molecats will face various traps, collect ‘shrooms, solve challenges and meet some very interesting characters. Do you have what it takes to guide the Molecats through an adventure like non other?
It’s a game that features Lemmings style gameplay with tile twisting mechanics, it’s incredibly challenging but very addictive. We were approached by Rock Paper Shotgun to feature Molecat Twist at the Eurogamer Expo 2011 and so we rushed to build a flash prototype for the expo. I did all the sound design but unfortunately did not get to mix the game, therefore the levels are fairly consistent aside from one music track which is 10-15db louder than the others, rest assured the final game will have a proper mix!
For us to continue development on the game we want to create (without publishers and investors steering the game in another direction(e.g. make an Angry Birds clone!) we have reached out to Kickstarter and started to raise some funds.
